CVC Announces Formation of New Conference (March 13, 2014)
With the continued growth of men's volleyball at the NCAA Division III level, the Continental Volleyball Conference has recently approved a motion that will add three new programs while splitting into two separate single sport conferences.....MORE

Royals Sweep LBC To Tie Program Record (March 18, 2014)
The Royals swept Lancaster Bible College on the road Tuesday night, improving to 11-9 while winning their sixth straight match.  It's the longest winning streak for the EMU volleyball men since a six-match string in 2007, and is likely the longest winning streak in program history....MORE

 AROUND THE CVC

   After an 11 day hiatus Cairn returns to action this week with a match against #15 ranked Stevenson University in a CVC East match. After winning three straight matches Cairn has dropped four in a row. They are currently 7-8 on the season.
  Carthage, ranked #4 in the nation, has won a CVC best nine straight matches. They put their winning streak on the line against MSOE, Holy Names, and UC Santa Cruz.
      Dominican split a pair of matches in their last outing, falling 3-1 to Ramapo but following with a 3-0 sweep of MSOE. In their win the Stars hit .256 as a team with with Jeremy Royko leading the way with 10 kills. Alex Coyne added 24 assists as the Stars recorded their 10th win of the year. They are in action this weekend against fellow CVC newcomer Lakeland.
     Eastern Mennonite continued their recent outstanding play with a 3-0 win over Lancaster Bible. The Royals extended their winning streak to six games with the win, tying the longest streak in program history. The Royals attack was nearly unstoppable against Lancaster Bible, hitting .373 with 42 kills. Three players finished with double digits in kills.
     After falling to Lakeland earlier in the week Fontbonne snapped their five match losing streak with a 3-1 win over MSOE. Fontbonne edged past MSOE 25-19, 27-29, 25-23 before putting them away 25-12 in the fourth set. Aaron Graue led the way with 22 kills while Justin Winkelmann finished with 38 assists.
     Juniata returns to action after a two week break this weekend with two CVC East road matches. They face Eastern Mennonite on Friday and then head to Marymount on Saturday. Juniata's Joe Bortak leads the conference in hitting percentage at a .427 clip while Matt Elias is fourth in assists at 9.73 per set.
  Lakeland has a light schedule this week as they will host Dominican on Thursday. The Muskies are currently 15-6 overall and ranked #11 in the latest AVCA poll. Muskie Alec Redlich was named the CVC Player of the Week this week after averaging 5.2 kills per set and hitting .353 in three matches.
 Marymount will play three matches this weekend as they play host to Penn State-Altoona, Thiel and Juniata. The Saints are 6-13 overall this season and will be looking to snap a three match losing streak. The Saints Bryce Ernsberger currently ranks fourth in the conference in kills at 4.16 per set.
 MSOE dropped all four matches last week, falling to Mount St. Joseph, Fontbonne, Ramapo and Dominican. The Raiders are back in action against #4 ranked Carthage this week as they look to snap their streak.
    Mount St. Joseph has a busy weekend with four home matches. They will host Fontbonne and Rust in a pair of double headers. The Lions are 11-8 overall this season and 2-3 in the West Division. The Lions' Alex Vohland is third in the conference at 4.18 kills per set while Luke Eschenbach is first in assists at 10.39 per set.
      Stevenson stayed in the AVCA poll at #15 once again. The Mustangs are 13-6 on the season and 3-1 in the East Division. They host Cairn, Kearn, Elmira and York as they will try to climb up the poll. The Mustangs have a balanced attack this year with three players averaging at least 2.3 kills per set.
     Thiel will be looking to break out of a five match losing streak this weekend when they host Marymount and Eastern Mennonite in a pair of CVC East Division matches. The Tomcats are 10-13 overall this season but 3-2 in the East Division, placing them in third place. Thiel's Ian Phillips currently ranks second in the league in digs with 163 this season.
