Former Rutgers University-Newark men's volleyball player and CVC standout Cody Chidsey will be joining the Scarlet Raiders Hall of Fame later this spring.
Chidsey, a middle hitter from 2013-16, helped bring the program to a new level, winning a share of the CVC regular season title in their first year with the conference in 2015. That same year he was named the CVC Player of the Year as the Scarlet Raiders went 22-10 overall and 11-1 in the CVC. That year the Scarlet Raiders won the tournament championship and advanced to the Division III Elite 8. His senior season saw his team go 24-4 and 10-2 in the CVC and again make a run to the Elite 8.
He was named Second Team All-America in 2015, also earning First Team All-Conference honors that season, as well as being a two-time national Player of the Week selection. He finished the year 3rd in the nation in hitting percentage and was named the Gerald Massenburg Award winner. As a senior, he was again named All-American and First Team All-CVC and ranking 6th nationally in hitting percentage.
He completed his career with 1,111 career points, 845 career kills, .377 hitting percentage, 62 solo blocks, 185 block assists, 144 digs, 58 aces, and 36 assists. He was also a two-time CVC All-Academic selection.
