The Southern Virginia University men's volleyball team edged out Randolph-Macon Thursday night in five sets 3-2.

Game Notes
- The Knights dominated in the first set after going up 5-0 early with a kill and an ace from Recabarren
- Later on in the set, Paul Candland helped spark a 4-0 scoring run to go up 20-11
- After a short 3-0 run by Randolph-Macon, Southern Virginia went ahead 1-0 in the game courtesy of a Krist Bianchin Puente kill
- The Yellow Jackets did not shy away, winning the next two sets and taking the 2-1 lead in the match
- In the fourth set, both teams were neck and neck with the Knights holding on to the 13-12 lead midway through the set
- With the score 18-15, Christian Sheaffer got things going for the team, starting a 4-0 run extending the team's lead to six 21-15
- Paul Candland recorded the final kill of the set, forcing a fifth set after taking the third 25-18
- Southern Virginia held the 12-10 lead midway through the final set led by six Nahuel Recabarren kills
- Randolph-Macon regained the lead 13-12 thanks to three consecutive points
- The Yellow Jackets found themselves with match point 14-13, but another Recabarren kill forced overtime
- Both teams traded points, but a kill from Recabarren and a final ace from Steve Rasmansen locked in the 3-2 victory
Southern Virginia heads to Lancaster Bible College for a double-header weekend on Saturday, February 19. Game one against Eastern is scheduled for 12 pm, and game two against Lancaster Bible is slated for 2 pm.
