Stevenson To Face Carthage In Tournament Opener

Winners of the Continental Volleyball Conference and recipients of the conference's automatic bid, the Stevenson men's volleyball team earned the sixth seed in the upcoming NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Tournament.

The Mustangs (25-7), who advanced to their third straight CVC Championship match, will face third-seeded Carthage on Friday, April 22 at Nazareth College beginning at 8:00 p.m. Both teams earned a first round bye and advance to the quarterfinals of a ten-team tournament.

It is the first NCAA Tournament appearance for the Stevenson (25-7) who becomes the 10th program at the University to do so.

SUNY New Paltz and Springfield are the top two seeds in the tournament and received first round byes. Top-seeded New Paltz will face the winner of No. 7 Wentworth and No. 10 Hunter. Springfield will receive the winner of No. 8 Kean and No. 9 Endicott.

The last quarterfinal contest will be No. 4 Rutgers-Newark and No. 5 Stevens.

Stevenson, who also won the CVC regular season title, is one win shy of tying the program record.
