For the first time this season a team has claimed all 17 first-place votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball poll, SUNY New Paltz. Other than gaining one additional first-place vote not much changed in the poll, with the top seven teams once again remaining unchanged including Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) members Rutgers University-Newark and Stevenson University.
Rutgers-Newark held at #5 in the poll for the fourth straight week, garnering 189 total points. The Scarlet Raiders are currently 20-2 overall and in second place in the CVC. The Scarlet Raiders are set to face #13 NYU on Tuesday night before closing out the regular season with matches against Juniata College and Thiel College this weekend.
CVC first-place leader Stevenson University also held at the #7 ranking, totaling 143 total points. The Mustangs are 22-7 overall and the #7 ranking is the highest in program history. The Mustangs will host Eastern Mennonite University on Wednesday night as they look to lock down the hosting rights to the CVC Tournament with a win.
A new addition to teams receiving votes is a third CVC program, Marymount University. Marymount, in just their second year of existence, picked up three points in the poll and was just one of three teams sitting outside the Top 15 poll. The Saints are currently 17-9 overall and 9-3 in the CVC.
