The AVCA has recognized seven members of the CVC with All-Region honors for the 2024 season. Six players, three from Juniata College and Southern Virginia University, as well as Southern Virginia head coach Tom Peterson, were recognized by the AVCA with Region III honors.
Tom Peterson has led the Knights to a 28-0 record thus far, winning the 2024 CVC Championship. They are ranked #1 in the latest AVCA national poll and will make their fifth consecutive national tournament appearance later this week.
The Knights are represented on the All-Region team by Justin Madsen, Christian Sheaffer, and Tyler Sheaffer. In addition to being named All-Region, Christian Sheaffer was selected as the Region III Player of the Year. He led the CVC in kills per set (4.38) and was named the CVC Player of the Year, totaling 337 kills while hitting .382 and finishing with 102 digs and 67 blocks with 46 aces. Tyler Sheaffer averaged 10.23 assists per set this season while running an offense that hit .355 as a team. Madsen recorded 218 digs this year, averaging 2.56 per set.
Juniata's players earning All-Region honors are Reese Ganter, Tyler Goldsborough, and Luke Hoffman. Ganter is among the nation's leaders at 10.53 assists per set this season. Goldsborough had a conference-high 342 kills this year, averaging 3.68 per set, while hitting .330. Hoffman hit a conference-best .422 this season while also recording 89 total blocks.
