Facing their third consecutive ranked opponent the Southern Virginia University men's volleyball team added a second upset win, this time knocking off UC Santa Cruz 3-0 on Friday night. The Knights won 25-17, 25-23, and 25-14 to improve to 7-2 on the season.
The Knights outhit UC Santa Cruz thanks to a strong presence at the net. SVU finished with a .149 team-hitting percentage while UC Santa Cruz managed a -.062 percentage thanks to 14 team blocks from the Knights.
Christian Sheaffer led SVU with 8 kills and 12 points while Jayton Hall finished with 7 kills and 13.5 total points. Tyler Sheaffer handed out 24 assists and Justin Madsen and Jeremy Brown each had 7 digs.
