Five Selected NVA/AVCA All-American

Five players from the Continental Volleyball Conference were selected as members of the 2020 National Volleyball Association/American Volleyball Coaches Association (NVA/AVCA) NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball All-America teams. 

Southern Virginia University's Nahuel Recabarren was the only CVC player to earn First Team All-American honors, doing so for the second consecutive season. Recabarren, a junior from San Juan, Argentina, led the Knights in kills per set (3.35) and hitting percentage (.306) while finishing second in blocks per set (0.71) and third in digs per set (1.21). The outside hitter notched double-figures in kills ten of the 14 games while moving into second all-time in program history in kills with 736.

The Rutgers University-Newark men's volleyball team had two members of their squad make NVA/AVCA 2nd Team All-American. The two freshmen burst onto the scene for the Scarlet Raiders and propelled them to a No. 5 ranking in the nation. Justin Tuohy and Andrew Zaleck ranked in the top-5 for each of their respective statistical categories this season. Tuohy finished with 10.95 assists per set (484 assists) on the year which was good for third-best in the nation. In his first season, the tallied 50 assists in a match twice. One benefactor of those passes was Zaleck who led the team with 4.48 kills per set (188 kills) which was good for fifth in the nation. Zaleck recorded 10 or more kills in a match 11 times this season. With the freshman duo the Scarlet Raiders had the best start to their season (17-1) in school history.

Marymount University senior Sam Safley caps off his collegiate career as an All-American for the first time in his career. Safley led the Continental Volleyball Conference on the year with 286 kills while averaging 4.09 kills per set. He did so with a .280 hitting percentage. He also led the team with 322 points and 4.6 points per set. Safley ranked third on the team with 25 total blocks and 20 services aces, as well. He tallied 72 digs, for the season.

Juniata College's Kevin Duffy was named Honorable Mention after finishing sixth in the country in hitting percentage (.420), which is the best in the CVC. In the conference, he also ranked 13th in kills (151), 16th in kills per set (2.19), 10th in points (191), fifth in solo blocks (8), while he was third in both blocks assists (44) and total blocks (52).
