Rutgers University-Newark has named Jack Wilson as their newest member of the Scarlet Raider family, being hired as the Head Men's Volleyball Coach.
"Wilson complete's our staff and will immediately come in and begin to make a difference on and off the court for our men's volleyball program," said Athletic Director Mark Griffin.
Wilson joins the Scarlet Raiders from NJIT where he served as the assistant men's volleyball coach for one season after helping Eastern Mennonite University reach their second-highest win total for the program.
"I'm very excited to take on this position with a full head of steam. I believe there's a ton of potential with this team and plenty of room for growth so I'm thrilled to get to work," said Wilson.
Wilson played professionally in Finland with the Kokkola Tiikerit in 2017. The squad was a mainstay in the Champions League, one of the world's most renown club competitions. He represented Team USA at the World University Games in South Korea in 2015 before an unfortunate shoulder injury ended his career.
"My expectations for this team is for them to be hardworking and put the time and effort into the gym. I want them to compete in every match, and continue to improve throughout the season. I want to install a competitive atmosphere so we're ready for every situation that we might face," said Wilson.
The Scarlet Raiders will be primed and ready to go come the 2020 season under the new leadership of Jack Wilson.
