Juniata College and Kean University were two of just 19 men's volleyball programs to receive the Team Academic Award from the AVCA for the 2018-19 season. A total of 1,125 programs from all levels earned the award this year.
Juniata and Kean were the only representatives from the Continental Volleyball Conference to receive the award this year.
The Team Academic Award was created in 1992 by the AVCA and recognizes teams who have matched their dedication to the sport of volleyball with excellence in the classroom. Teams must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team GPA on a 4.0 scale for the year or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
