The Kean University men's volleyball team is headed to Vassar College to face off against St. Joseph's College-Long Island in first round action of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, April 20th.
The Cougars are currently producing their best record in program history (33-2) and are on a 27 game winning streak. Kean met the Golden Eagles earlier this season, winning in straight sets. St. Joseph's won the Skyline Conference's automatic bid and sports a 23-8 overall mark in just their second season as a Division III varsity sport.
The winner of Friday's matchup will then go on to face host Vassar College (22-7) on Saturday, April 21st. Vassar fell to Stevens in straight sets in the UVC Championship on Sunday but received one of two at-large berths in the NCAA Tournament.
The Cougars have a 5-1 record against members of the tournament field (wins over St. Joseph's-LI, Elms, Lancaster Bible, Hunter and Dominican with a loss to Stevens). Kean is just one of two programs (Springfield College) who has been a part of every NCAA Division III Tournament since its inception.
