Marymount and Southern Virginia Up One, Rutgers-Newark Appears In Latest AVCA Poll

Marymount University and Southern Virginia University each moved up one spot and Rutgers University-Newark made an appearance in the receiving votes section of the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association poll while Kean University held their spot from last week.

Kean remained in their familiar #4 ranking, marking the fifth straight week they appeared in that spot. The Cougars picked up 268 points this week, four more than last week, but remain nearly 20 points behind the #3 team Stevens. Kean is currently 32-2 overall and has won 25 straight as they enter the Continental Volleyball Conference Tournament. 

Marymount moved up one spot this week to #5 in the poll, receiving 219 points. The Saints are 21-6 overall and earned a first-round bye in the CVC Tournament by virtue of winning the CVC West Division.

Southern Virginia, who just missed qualifying for the conference tournament, received 91 points to move up one spot from last week to #11 in the poll. The Knights finished regular season play with a 16-8 overall record and an 8-5 CVC mark.

Rutgers-Newark appears in the receiving votes section of the poll, amassing six points. It is their first appearance since two weeks ago when they received three points. The Scarlet Raiders are 18-8 overall and earned the #2 seed from the East Division in the upcoming CVC Tournament.
