Wiechecki Named ECAC South Player of the Week

The Eastern College Athletic Conference recognized junior right-side hitter TJ Wiechecki of the No. 9 Marymount (Va.) University men's volleyball team as the ECAC Division III South Player of the Week for the second time this season on Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier in the week, Wiechecki tallied his third Continental Volleyball Conference Player of the Week award of the season as the accolades continue to roll in for the Wilmington, Delaware native.

Wiechecki and the men's volleyball squad are off to an impressive 2017 campaign thus far. The Saints are off to a 15-7 start while remaining on top of the CVC with a 9-1 record. Wiechecki has led the Saints to an AVCA top-15 ranking through the last 10 weeks, currently sitting at No. 9.

In the past week, Marymount went 1-1 against two AVCA top-10 ranked opponents. Through the two matches, Wiechecki bolstered 58 points off 51 kills, 20 digs, and 11 total blocks.

His efforts on the offensive end put him atop of the standings in the CVC in two statistical categories: kills (337) and kills per set (4.21); his kills per set total also ranks him third in the country. Wiechecki is also in the top 10 of the CVC standings in blocks per set (.78) and service aces (23).
