Marymount Jumps Eastern Mennonite In Latest AVCA Poll

For the first time this season there are just two Continental Volleyball Conference members ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III Men's Top 15 Poll; Marymount University and Eastern Mennonite University.

Marymount jumped ahead of Eastern Mennonite this week after defeating the Royals last week while Juniata College, who had been holding at #15 in the poll fell out of the rankings for the first time this season. Surprisingly Marymount and Eastern Mennonite, the two members of the CVC in the rankings, were not among the three conference schools ranked in the preseason poll.

Marymount moved up to #9 in this week's poll after sweeping their season series against Eastern Mennonite. Marymount received 110 total points, moving up two spots from last week. The Saints are currently 15-7 overall this season and will face Stevenson University and Rutgers University-Newark this week as they look to secure a CVC regular season title.

Eastern Mennonite, 19-7 overall, received 100 points in the poll to place them #11 this week. The Royals will face Juniata, Cairn, and Rutgers-Newark this week and are just one game behind Marymount in the CVC standings for first place.

Springfield held strong at the top spot, picking up 255 points. SUNY New Paltz remains #2 while Vassar moved up to #3 and Carthage jumped up three spots to #4. Stevens fell two spots and are ranked #5 this week.
