Marymount Jumps Into AVCA Poll

Marymount University jumped into this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Men's Volleyball NCAA Division III poll this week, marking the first time in program history they have been in the top 15 of the national ranking. Marymount is one of three teams from the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) to appear in the rankings.

Marymount was the only new team to appear in this week's poll, jumping from receiving votes to being tied for 12th with 41 total points. The Saints are currently 3-1 to open the season and this marks the first time in the program's four years of existence to be listed in the top 15 of the AVCA poll. Marymount will host Marian, Elmira, and Mount St. Joseph this weekend in their first home matches of the 2017 season.

Defending CVC Champion Stevenson University is tied with Marymount in this week's poll at 12 with 41 total points. The Mustangs dropped seven spots from the preseason poll after going 2-2 in their opening week of play. Stevenson will have a busy weekend as they host Mount St. Joseph, Wilson, Marian, and Elmira this weekend.

The remaining CVC team in the poll is Juniata College, who remained at #15 with 29 total points. The Eagles went 1-2 last week and will host Wittenberg, New Paltz State, and Wells this weekend.

The top three teams remained unchanged in the poll with Springfield grabbing the top spot followed by SUNY New Paltz and Stevens. NYU made the biggest jump in the poll, going up eight spots to #6 from #14.
