Juniata's Bortak and Kuhn Named ECAC All-Stars

The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its Division III Men's Volleyball All-Star Teams on Tuesday. Seniors Joe Bortak and Paul Kuhn were both selected from Juniata College.

Bortak was named to the First Team. A middle blocker, he finished with 265 kills this season, including 136 during conference action, ranking 4th in the league. He hit .480 during CVC play, the second highest hitting percentage in the league, and finished sixth in total blocks with 39. He was named the CVC and ECAC player of the week on February 23 as he averaged 4.57 kills per set in two conference wins while hitting .630 with 32 kills and just three errors on 46 attempts. He recorded 13 digs, and five total blocks in the two matches. Earlier this season, he became the first Eagles player since 2010 to reach 1,000 kills for a career and is the program's all-time leader in total blocks with 430.
 
Kuhn was named to the Second Team. He was a First Team selection last season. Kuhn led the Eagles with 306 kills and 34 service aces. In the Continental Volleyball Conference, he averaged 3.69 kills per set while hitting .400 and notching a high 19 service aces. He was a CVC and ECAC player of the week on February 16 as he totaled 25 kills, hit .590, and averaged 4.17 kills per set in two Juniata wins. He also reached 1,000 kills for his career this season and ranks second in program history with 135 service aces.
