Juniata College strengthened its position at the top of the AVCA poll after topping a pair of ranked teams last week. Juniata received 234 points in this week's poll, including 11 first place votes as they increased their top spot ranking by ten points over the preseason poll. The Eagles strengthened their number one position after going 4-0 to start the season including wins over ranked Baruch and Elmira.
Fellow Continental Volleyball Conference member Stevenson University held in the poll at the #14 spot. Despite going 1-2 in the season's opening weekend Stevenson's position went unchanged from the preseason poll, receiving 24 total points.
