Carthage’s Barry receives first CVC Player of the Week honor for 2013

Milwaukee -- Carthage College opposite hitter Pat Barry (Skokie, Ill./ Wilmette-Loyola Academy) was named the Continental Volleyball Conference Player of the Week Award on Jan. 21 as the Red Men finished the week with a  1-1 record. Barry had 12 kills in a three set loss to NCAA Division I power Loyola-Chicago on Jan. 16. He followed that performance with a team-high 17 kills on 32 attempts and had a .438 hitting percentage on Jan. 20. Combined with his 1.5 blocks and three service aces in the match, Barry scored 21.5 points for Carthage in the non-conference win. On the week, he averaged 4.14 kills per set, a .311 hitting percentage, .57 blocks per set and averaged 5.1 points per set.
