CVC Player of the Week - March 9, 2020
Joseph Zanelotti, Marymount University

Joseph Zanelotti is the Continental Volleyball Conference Player of the Week after helping the Saints extend their winning streak to four with two wins last week over Randolph-Macon and #4 ranked Dominican. Zanelotti, a senior setter, put up 34 assists in both of his team's three-set victories last week, averaging 11.33 assists per set. The Saints hit .370 as a team against Randolph-Macon, their 4th highest mark this season. He added five digs, four kills, and four total blocks on the week as well; including a solo block in the second set against Dominican that sparked the win after trailing 23-20 in the set.

 
         
   

CVC Player of the Week - March 2, 2020
Jared Ray - Kean University

Ray claims his second weekly award for the 2020 season after a stellar outing in his only match last week, helping Kean to a 3-0 sweep over Ramapo. Ray, a freshman from Phoenixville, Pa., totaled 24 kills in the three-set sweep. He committed just two errors on 40 attempts, hitting .550 in the match and finishing with 27 total points. Ray also picked up 8 digs, 3 total blocks, and 1 service ace in the match. Ray is currently leading the CVC in kills per set (4.49) and ranks 6th in hitting percentage (.302).

 

 
         
   

CVC Player of the Week - February 24, 2020
Andrew Zaleck, Rutgers University-Newark

Zaleck receives his second CVC Player of the Week award after leading the Scarlet Raiders to a 3-1 win over Hunter. The freshman from Old Bridge, N.J. put down a career-high 21 kills in the win, averaging 5.25 kills per set while hitting .244 in the match. He also added two aces and three total blocks, accumulating 24.5 total points in the match. 

 
         
   

CVC Player of the Week - February 17, 2020
Jared Ray, Kean University

Ray, a freshman from Phoenixville, Pa., put together the best week of his early collegiate career in picking up CVC Player of the Week honors. The outside hitter finished with 58 kills in three matches, hitting .333, and averaging 5.80 kills per set. He also totaled 21 digs, averaging 2.10 per set and finished with 65.5 points on the week. Ray tied his career-high with 25 kills in a sweep of Randolph-Macon, hitting .550 in the match. Ray also notched 21 kills against CVC foe Marymount, adding 6 digs and two total blocks in the match. 

 
         
   

CVC Player of the Week - February 10, 2020
Andrew Zaleck, Rutgers University-Newark

Zaleck helped the Scarlet Raiders pick up three more wins to extend their season-opening winning streak to five matches. The freshman from Old Bridge, N.J. totaled 37 kills in the three wins, two of which came against ranked opponents. The hitter put down a high of 18 kills against #3 ranked Stevens, hitting .467 in the match. He also had a 16 kill effort against #12 Stevenson and tallied 3 kills in his only set of action against Eastern. On the week Zaleck hit .288 and averaged 4.63 kills and 5.1 points per set. He also chipped in with 7 digs and 4 total blocks on the week.

 
         
   

CVC Player of the Week - February 3, 2020
Eric Hollenbach, Rutgers University-Newark

Hollenbach, a sophomore from Piscataway, N.J., led the Scarlet Raiders to their third consecutive win to open the season in a dominating 3-0 win over Pratt. The middle hitter finished with 6 kills in the sweep, hitting .750 in the match on just eight attempts. He added one block assists and finished with 6.5 total points, averaging 3.3 points per set on the week.

 
         
   

CVC Player of the Week - January 27, 2020
Robert Bowling, Juniata College

The sophomore opposite led the Juniata offensive attack this week, averaging 4.22 kills per set while hitting .378 in his two matches. He finished with 40.5 total points, averaging 4.5 per set, and chipped in 9 total digs and 3 total blocks on the week. Bowling had 16 kills against #1 ranked SUNY New Paltz. He upped his performance against #15 ranked Stevenson with 22 kills in leading the Eagles to a five-set win. 

 
         
     

CVC Player of the Week - January 20, 2020
Conner Kolek, Neumann University

Kolek, a sophomore at Neumann University, helped the Knights split a pair of matches on their 2020 opening date. The outside hitter from Bear, Delaware led the Knights in kills in both matches on Saturday. He tallied 9 kills against City College of New York and followed with a career-high 20 kills in a win over Colby-Sawyer. Kolek averaged 3.63 kills per set in the two matches, hitting .301 while adding 27 digs (an average of 3.38 per set). Kolek also chipped in with four total blocks and finished with 32 total points on the weekend.

 

   

     
 

CVC Player of the Week - January 13, 2020
Sam Safley, Marymount University

Safley, a senior from Santa Clarita, Calif., opens up the new year as the CVC Player of the Week. The outside hitter totaled 70 kills in four matches during his team's first week of play. He averaged 4.38 kills per set, hitting .305 on the week, and adding 1.25 digs per set. Safley had a high of 22 kills against Wells and finished with 79 total points on the week; an average of 4.9 per set.
