Cobras Rally Against Royals to Remain Perfect

HARRISONBURRG, VA. – The Coker College men's volleyball team moved to a perfect 3-0 on the season after picking up a 3-1 win over Eastern Mennonite on Saturday (Jan. 16). 

The Cobras found themselves in a bit of trouble after the first set, losing it 20-25. However, they did not compile a hitting percentage below .200 over the final three sets and went on those sets 25-18, 25-21 and 25-17 to win the match 3-1.

Artur Cabral had an excellent showing, amassing a match-high 13 kills and a .320 hitting percentage. Joao Victor Santos collected nine kills and eight digs. Gabriel Castro and Leshon Alexander chipped in with six and five kills each, while Aleksa Bijelic finished with a double double, dishing out 21 assists and recording 10 digs.

The Navy and Gold will be back in action on Tuesday (Jan. 19) to take on the Bulldogs on Barton College. First serve from the DeLoach Center is set for 7 p.m.
