Men's Volleyball Falls in Season-Opener
Box Score Hamburg, N.Y. - The Hilbert Hawks men's volleyball team opened up the 2015 campaign against Marymount University. This morning's game kicked off each teams' seasons, but the Saints of Marymount left with the 3-0 victory (25-16, 25-19, 25-14). Junior
Korey Schwab led the Hawks with 6 kills in the loss.
Nine Hawks saw action in the opening set, but Marymount's 13 kills to Hilbert's four caused the Hawks to fall 25-16. The second set started off with each team trading points off missed serves. The two teams were tied at 12, but the Saints rallied and eventually walked away with a 25-19 victory. Marymount's blistering 52% hitting percentage in the third set was the difference and allowed them to claim the game with a score of 25-14.

Brett Kane led the Hawks with 12 assists, while senior
David Mellerski added a team-high 6 digs.
Andrew Wolbert finished with 4 kills on only 7 attempts.
Ryan Ratajczak contributed five digs.
TJ Wiechecki led the Saints with 11 kills and Tomasz Ksiazkiewicz added another nine kills on eleven attempts. Erich Bratke tallied a game-high 23 assists, while Chris Lionette recorded 10 digs in the win.
The Hawks (0-1) are back in action this weekend as they travel to the Juniata Invitational where they will play Juniata College, Thiel College, and Hunter College.
